「劇本導讀」課程分「中國及台灣戲劇」與「西方戲劇」兩部分。「中國及台灣戲劇」上課內容包含：１「戲劇概論」２「劇本選讀」兩大重點。首先介紹中國及台灣戲劇的簡單歷史、主要特質和欣賞要點；希望同學在具備一定的瞭解基礎下，對劇本及戲劇藝術進行閱讀和欣賞。
「戲劇概論」內容包含１.中國及台灣戲劇的簡單歷史、2.傳統戲曲的九大特質、3.傳統戲曲欣賞要點(傳統戲曲美學)。「劇本選讀」則分傳統和現代兩單元，依劇種選讀具代表性的傳統戲曲和現代戲劇作品。

西方戲劇部份: this course explores the relationship between the printed text of Western canon and the play in performance. Students when reading the text will have to consider the text in relation to the potential performances in different physical and historical conditions. Students will learn to read a text with an awareness of how meaning is created in performance: through the organization of space and through set design, through the vocal and visual contribution of the actor, through the audience’s acceptance of specific historically conditioned theatrical conventions.
